Job statuses

Understand the different statuses of a Job and their impact on visibility, applications and your Job limit. Available on desktop only.

In the Jobs section of the sidebar, you see three categories: Active, Drafts and Archived:

  • Active includes Online and Offline Jobs

  • Drafts contains unpublished Jobs still being created

  • Archived groups together closed or paused Jobs that are no longer managed

Online

Online Jobs are published and visible to candidates. They appear on JOIN's partner Job boards, on your JOIN career page and on any Job widgets you have integrated.

This status lets you receive new applications and manage candidates in JOIN.

Online Jobs:

  • Count towards your job limit

  • Can be promoted through premium options

  • Are visible to candidates

Switching an Online Job to Offline or Archived immediately cancels any active premium promotion. To avoid losing this visibility, wait until the promotion ends before changing the status.

Offline

Offline Jobs are hidden on Job boards. Candidates can no longer apply.

Use this status if:

  • You are pausing recruitment but still managing existing candidates

  • You want to temporarily stop receiving new applications

  • You are conducting interviews or reviewing applications already received

Offline Jobs:

  • Remain visible in the Active tab

  • Count towards your job limit

  • Cannot be promoted until they are back Online

Visibility changes on external Job boards may take 24 to 48 hours.

Archived

Jobs in Archived correspond to closed positions. They are no longer visible. Candidate management is disabled.

Use the Archived status to:

  • Declutter your Active tab

  • Keep a history of your Jobs

  • Free up space in your job limit

Jobs in Archived:

  • Do not count towards your job limit

  • Cannot be edited or promoted

  • Keep their associated applications, in read-only mode

To manage the candidates of an archived Job again, switch it back to Offline or Online.

Changing a Job's status

  1. Go to Jobs, then select Active

  2. Click the three-dot menu (...) on the Job's card

  3. Hover over Change status and select: Online, Offline or Archived

The change applies immediately in JOIN. It may take up to 48 hours on external Job boards.

FAQ

What is an active Job?

Online and Offline Jobs are active. Online is visible and receives applications. Offline is hidden, but remains manageable. Archived Jobs are closed and do not count towards your limit.

How do I delete or archive a Job?

It is currently not possible to delete a Job on JOIN. However, you can switch the Job to Offline or Archive it. To archive a Job or take it offline, go to the Jobs tab, open the menu next to the Job, then change its status.

Can I manage candidates if the Job is archived?

No. The Archived status disables candidate management. Applications remain accessible in read-only mode. Switch the Job back to Offline or Online to manage candidates again.

Can I pause recruitment without losing premium visibility?

If you switch an Online Job to Offline or Archived, premium promotions are cancelled immediately. To avoid losing visibility, wait until the promotions end before changing the status.
