In Skello, you can choose from several types of meal allowances for your employees:
Benefits in kind and compensatory allowances
Compensatory allowances only
Meal vouchers
Basket bonus
How do I configure meals in the establishment settings?
To set up meals, follow these steps:
Go to Establishment settings.
Select Basic rules.
Click on Meal settings.
Note that if you have several establishments in the same organization, the meal settings are specific to each establishment.
What are the details for each type of allowance?
Benefits in kind and compensatory allowances
If you choose this type of allowance :
Benefits in kind: The establishment offers a meal on site.
Compensatory allowances: If a meal is not taken, a compensatory allowance is paid.
What you need to know:
Meals taken are recorded in the report, schedule and time clock tabs.
Meals due are calculated automatically and cannot be changed.
Compensatory allowance = meals due - meals taken.
Compensatory allowances only
If the establishment does not offer on-site meals, you can select Compensatory allowances only.
Basket bonus
Basket bonuses are amounts paid each month to all employees.
The amount can be set in the general settings.
The amount is the same for all establishments using this type of allowance.
Luncheon vouchers
Skello calculates the number of luncheon vouchers to which each employee is entitled.
Ticket amounts cannot be set in Skello.
What are the calculation rules and criteria?
Calculation rules
Define how to calculate the number of meals due each month by choosing from these options:
Number of days worked in the month: One meal per day worked, modifiable.
Average for all months: The same number of meals each month, regardless of days worked.
Hours and duration of work in the month: Based on hours of attendance and duration of work.
Calculation criteria
If you choose the mode based on hours worked and schedules, define the following criteria:
Hours worked
Working hours
Duration + hours
You can add up to 5 criteria to refine the automatic calculation.
The criteria are cumulative and strict: multiple meals can be triggered if the criteria are met, but shifts that don't meet the criteria don't trigger meals.
Example of calculation criteria
Working hours: Between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Working hours: More than 5 hours but less than 10 hours per day.
If an employee starts at 2:30pm or works 10:30am, he/she will not have a meal.
