Why is this important?
The unassigned shifts line on the schedule helps you forecast staffing needs without immediately assigning shifts to specific employees. This gives you greater flexibility in managing changing schedules.
How do I activate or deactivate unassigned shifts?
The unassigned shifts line is activated by default when a new establishment is created. You can enable or disable it as required.
Activate or deactivate display :
Click on the three dots at the top right of the schedule.
Select Display options.
Check or uncheck the “Show unassigned shifts” option .
The line is visible to all those who have access to the schedule.
If shifts remain scheduled as unassigned, the line continues to appear even if it is deactivated in the display options. It disappears when no more shifts are scheduled.
How do I use unassigned shifts?
Unassigned shifts are not allocated to any employee, but are used to forecast staffing needs for a given period. They appear at the top of the schedule in day and week view (in employee view only).
Create and manage unassigned shifts :
Add shifts on the unassigned line with schedules and position.
Move shifts from the unassigned line to the employee lines.
Move the whole line of unassigned shifts at once to an employee by positioning himself/herself to the left of the line of shifts.
Move an employee's shift to the unassigned line :
From the schedule, click on the three small dots at the bottom right of the shift.
Select the little man icon.
💡 Good to know:
If an absence request is validated and there were planned attendance shifts, these are moved to the unassigned shifts line.
If a schedule template is used and an employee is now archived, his or her shifts are moved to the unassigned shifts line.
The shifts of an archived employee are automatically moved to the unassigned line.
Shifts that cannot be placed due to a blocking alert are moved to the unassigned line.
