Why is this important?

Annualization allows you to modulate working hours over the course of a year to adapt to variations in company activity. By distributing hours over the year, you can adjust schedules to take account of periods of high and low activity.

How to activate annualization in the establishment?

  1. Access parameters:

    • Go to Establishment settings > Trackers > Activate annualization.

    • A window opens to initialize annualization.

  2. Initiate annualization:

    • Select the employees concerned (day, extra and temporary contracts are excluded by default).

    • Choose the reference period (the end date is automatically set 12 months later).

    • Set the initialization date to start counting hours worked.

If activation occurs during the period, enter the balance of hours already worked.

Check and adjust hours:

  • Skello automatically calculates the annual volume of hours based on the employee's contract, which can be modified if necessary.

  • If you are initializing during a period, enter the history manually.

Minutes must be entered as decimal values.

Save parameters:

  • Once validated, the annual volume of hours is entered in the History/Counters tab of the employee file, in the contractual & salary data, schedule and report.

How do I customize annualization parameters?

The predefined parameters generally comply with the legal framework. Customize them according to your establishment's collective agreements.

Access advanced settings:

  • Click on View advanced settings.

  1. Customize absences and hours:

    • Select the absences to be included in the calculation of hours worked.

    • By default, absences such as paid time off, weekly rest, holidays and sick leave are already deducted.

If you include these absences, add the corresponding hours to the annual balance.

  1. Include Sunday work:

    • By default, hours worked on Sundays are included. To exclude them, deactivate the Sunday hours included in calculation slider.

  2. Calculation of additional hours:

    • Define a weekly hours ceiling above which additional hours are paid.

    • Customize additional hours brackets and mark-up percentages.

How do I annualize a new employee?

  1. Activate annualization for a new employee:

    • Go to the Employees > History/Counters > Annualization tab.

    • The reference period remains the same as that defined in the establishment's parameters.

    • Set the initialization date, which corresponds to the start of the schedule on Skello.

  2. Adjust hours to be worked:

    • The number of hours to be worked is calculated for the entire period and can be adjusted if the employee joins during the period.

Skello provides an estimate based on the initialization date, but the exact number of hours must take into account remaining leave, upcoming holidays and solidarity day.
