This article explains how to activate the mobile time clock by selecting the employees concerned and tracking their shift punches.

Updated over 2 months ago

Why is it important?

The mobile time clock is ideal for employees on the move or working in large establishments, who are unable to badge on the establishment's tablet. Activating the mobile time clock allows employees to punch in from their smartphone, offering flexibility and efficiency, especially for those working off-site or in large spaces.

How do I activate it?

  1. Access the establishment's settings:

    • Click on the cogwheel at the top right of the screen.

    • Go to Establishment settings > Time clock rules > Mobile app time clock settings.

  2. Activate the mobile time clock:

    • Activate the option from the mobile app.

    • Select the employees authorized to punch in mobile from the drop-down menu.

Important points:

  • Authorized employees can punch in from their mobile app or the establishment's tablet.

  • Only employees whose main establishment is the establishment concerned can be selected.

  • Only users with “I have access to the time clock settings” permission can select authorized employees.

  • Don't forget: Click on “Update” to validate changes.

Processing time:

It takes about 15 minutes for the configurations to take effect. For immediate activation, employees must log out and log back in.

About mobile badges and geolocation

  • Geolocation is not required for badging. If you refuse, the punch will be unlocated.

  • To reactivate geolocation, go to your phone's settings.

  • Location data is stored for 2 months.

  • If two employees point to the same smartphone, an alert is sent to the manager.

  • If a third-party location simulation application is used (e.g. “Fake GPS”), pointing will be blocked.

  • The employee cannot change the location of the punch.

  • Geolocation is accurate to within 100 meters.

  • SMS delays are not available for punches from the mobile application.
